If the lights move out of the room, Wilhelm feels the darkness closing in and makes for the lantern and torches.

It's a long staircase, going straight down and west. You finally reach the bottom after 70' and are at a north-south passage, of which your lantern light shows it turns west almost immediately after 10' to the north and it goes east-west after 30' to the south.

Listen at door, then we should open it... (standard door operating procedures - I'm not opening it... :) )

Cugel hears nothing at the door and Si'Nat opens it. You see a 30' square room wit the door in the middle of the east wall. It's dirty, vile-smelling, with a smoky fire dying in a large fireplace and a kettle holding some greenish-black stew that's simmering over the coals (could be the source of the smell). Three large wooden benches, two chairs, and a table fill the room. On the table is a large jug and thre wine-stained goblets, two of which are tipped over next to a sticky pool of wine, The goblets are encrusted with dried wine and dirt.

Another door is in the middle of the west wall.

(search the room... looking for loose coins, personal belongings, etc.)

*Takes a closer look at the goblets and kettle/stew to see if there's anything notable about them.*

Kurik posts himself next to the west door.

Si'Nat doesn't find anything of note in the room
Cugel holds his breath and pokes around in the stew but just finds some unidentifiable chunks of something in it. Looking at the goblets, he does think he notices something... wiping one clean, he finds that it's made of silver and probably worth about 30 gp.

Clean the others enough to see if they are also.

Time to move on?

Gather up the goblets, is the Jug part of the set? Clean it up a bit if it looks like it could be...

Rest for a turn, then we'll proceed through the western door after checking it out for traps etc.

The jug isn't part of the set, nor is it silver or any other metal.

You rest, check the door and don't find anything, and head west. You go about 30' and there's a passage to the south for 10' with a door in the south wall while the passage also continues to the west for at least another 30'
