We can either proceed onward - hoping to find a clearing soon.

Or turn back to the other clearing and camp there. I don't think we should rest on the game trail... the other choice is moving off the path to camp in the undergrowth.

Anyone care to offer their opinions on choice?

I would suggest camping in underbrush...

That way we aren't open being surrounded without hearing them coming...

"If we make camp now, we can set up a little "extra" defense, etc...

Maybe gather a line of twigs and branches that would have to be stepped on to get to us... their crackling would let us know something is approaching...

I'll probably nest up in a tree to keep watch and have the bow ready..."

There are plenty of Nocturnal things to worry about... but then, it's better to stay alert than to worry...

While I sort of dislike the idea of splitting up, would it be wise to split to each side of the trail? Then if there's an ambush to half of us, as long as the other half is alert, we can surprise... Plus if we hear something coming down the trail, we can have an ambush laid out...

Just a thought...

I think the undergrowth is the wise choice as well.

"I think splitting over two sides of the trail is fine... pretty smart actually...

Let's make camp..."

(Suggests not using a camp fire, and dimming torches out... spells not used don't carry over to the next day do they?)

Who are the two groups?

Spells not used DO carry over the next day. You just have to spend time and study to replace the ones you used.

(So I could have 3 spells for the day?... or i the memory capped at 2?... I used one, would normally remember 2... )

"I would just like to rest. I do believe I can cure some wounds if anyone is in need. I will pray for more guidance in the morning."

(That setup is fine... If I can muster, I'll be taking lodge in the tree and make sure the bow remains ready...)

"Okay guys, let's break camp."

(watch shifts should be about 2 hours... and we should wake up for good at daybreak...)

we'll have to have 3 hour shifts on our side to compensate for only 3 people.
