A standard rate? A FEDERAL standard rate? States wouldn't allow that anyway. I agree that none of my suggestions are realistic. Merit pay just isn't ever going to work.

I can't imagine any union rejecting merit pay based on "someone might feel bad". I totally can see how the union would want to know exactly how a school baord would rate a teacher FOR merit pay? And reject it if it wasn't acceptable. Test scores would NOT be the way to do it. I HATED my teachers...

The problem I see with the drug testing is that even if just ONE welfare recipeint tests positive there'll be NO END to the critic's rhetoric.

Since this thread is MY CREATION; LOL, I hereby include any and all "free money" programs to be scrutinized for drug testing. No more talk needed for that.
