Weakened by the orc's magic, Dorgath falls to one knee. As he struggles, the shaman raises its cursed sword for a killing blow. Suddenly, the monster is thrown back into the wooden door behind it, sword clattering to the ground. The fletching of an arrow protrudes from the orc's mouth. Dorgath regains his footing and pulls the orc off the door. The orc falls down facefirst, Carrow's arrowhead has gone completely through its neck. Throg chops the orc's head off just to make sure the battle is finished.

Everyone gains 270 gold because I'm too lazy to divide it up according to kill contributions. Oh, and most of you are still pretty badly hurt.

I hate this stuff, why are we battling the sub-spieces?
What happened to the humans?
I need to rest and heal....... as do we all, let's search these corpses and use whatever healing we have/find.

"Cursed orc magic! Never have I failed so badly in fighting before..."

Dorgath curses all greenskins as he rests and recuperates before joining in the search of loot from the bodies and then checks out where we are.

Nothing Special
Throg will smile smugly, since he kicked so much butt that battle. Then he will chastise the others for being so hurt. Then he'll heal himself, if he has healing stuff, and if not, then whatever.

What happened to the humans?
Anton and Avorus are still cowering behind Carrow. Arcttus is dutifully wielding Throg's lantern.

You rest for a bit to recover from the fight against Skrunch and his savage orcs.

-Dorgath's Lifestone of Ashraz restores 3 of his Wounds. While he recovers, Dorgath consumes 1 Stonebread, restoring 6 more Wounds.

-Carrow consumes 3 provisions.
-Kelgar consumes 1 provision and applies one bandage to himself.
-Kelgar applies 1 bandage to Throg and Kelgar's Ring of Jade restores 4 more of Throg's Wounds.

Throg: 14/19
Dorgath: 13/15
Kelgar: 12/14
Carrow: 11/14

Carrow finds nothing of interest on the corpses, but does recover two of his arrows. Surveying the room reveals the following...
  • A hole in the ceiling in one corner of the room with a rope ladder hanging out of it. You arrived through this hole.
  • A door on the opposite side of the room from the hole. It seems to have a mechanism for concealing it in the wall, so this door could be hidden, but the orcs must have opened it up before the fight.
  • A small table in the corner opposite the hole in the ceiling with some objects, mostly papers.

Arcttus looks at Dorgath, Carrow, and Kelgar...

"Human? Does that mean he's not huyou know what, nevermind. I don't want to know."

Dorgath finds no hidden compartments or exits beyond the two that can already be seen. Carrow checks the desk. It's rather messy and he doesn't see much of interest, although a thorough check of all the objects on the table might reveal otherwise. Most of the papers on the desk appear to be blank, and most of the rest are crude orc drawings that seem to be useless. Carrow does notice one container that stands out, but then sees that it is dwarven ale and loses interest. He also finds a note with the name "SKRUNCH" written on it in huge, sloppy writing.

Carrow reads the papers on the desk and then asks,"Just what would orcs consider balck stuff that might keep a magic object from being used?"

Kelgar considers Carrow's question...

"I am not sure. Some holy artifacts, for example one blessed by Sigmar, might burn evil creatures that attempted to handle them. If the orcs found such an object, perhaps their shamans could coat it with some magical substance to prevent that, probably hoping to eventually trade it to some foul chaos sorcerer that could corrupt the artifact."

Dorgath finds Bugman's XXXXXX (4 doses, each dose heals 1D6 Wounds, inflicts -3 to hit for 1D3 turns, worth 50 gold per dose). Dorgath sifts through a bunch of papers. Most of them are crude orc drawings, designs for weapons (but not very good designs), or spells (no one in the party knows enough about orcish magic to evaluate these) and the rest are blank. Among the empty bottles and containers, Dorgath finds a small jar of yellow liquid bearing a label that reads...

"Speshul ANTI INVISIBILITI Paint"

Dorgath grabs the Bugman's for future use.

"Anti-Invisibility Paint? Now we just need something invisible... you guys ready? We still need to get out of here, let's check that next room."

Anton: I don't know why anyone would call regular paint "special anti-invisibility paint." Maybe it's magic? Perhaps you should look for something invisible to test it on.

Arcttus slaps Anton upside the head.

Arcttus: If we could see it, then it wouldn't be invisible, idiot.

Kelgar yells for everyone to stop rough-housing and focus on the mission.

The door opens into a branching corridor.

(I've used a red dot to mark the location of the hole in the ceiling, which was where you came from).
