Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
Even though you seemed to be far from the others while descending the rope ladder, it seems that almost everyone emerges at roughly the same time, in the order they left the upper room. Carrow, the last one to leave the upper room, lowers himself to the floor...

A pall of smoke fills your nostrils. You realize that you have emerged into some kind of monster's lair. An enraged bellowing as you ready your weapon confirms that. Scant seconds later, you are attacked by hulking orc figures...

Black orcs are the biggest and strongest of all orcs. they are the most powerful, disciplined warriors, and regard other orcs and goblins as puny weaklings...

There are many tribes of orcs, and they are constantly breaking up and reforming under the leadership of new ambitious orc warlords. Savage orcs have a more primitive lifestyle than other orcs. They dress in furs and skins, and decorate their bodies with tattoos. Because they are so close to nature, savage orcs tend to make good shamans.

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
Who ever has that frost blade better start using it.
Throg already used it on a giant bat.

Note on monster's with magic equipment. Some monsters can potentially have their own special magic weapon, armor, and/or item. I can't recall if this has come up before, so I'd better explain it now. I'll generally note such equipment during combat. The effects granted by this magic equipment can range from slightly advantageous to very, very powerful. Sometimes you'll see names for magic equipment. However, this equipment is cursed and if you try to use it, bad stuff will happen to you. Monsters might also end up using regular equipment or magical treasures that they've found in the dungeon. The magic weapons, armors, and items specific to monsters will never be mistaken by anyone in the party for treasure or ordinary, non-cursed gear. Cursed items as traps may or may not make appearances, but that's another category entirely. For this fight, Skrunch is wielding a Cursed Blackblade and wearing a Cloak of Shadows and the Savage Orc Shaman is wielding a Sword of Pain.

How many orcs?
Six savage orcs with bows, a savage orc shaman, and Skrunch.

Nothing Special
Throg will equip his Axe of Mighty Striking (if it's not already equipped), activate his Chalice of Night and attack Skrunch.

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
-Kelgar restore Carrow with his Healing Touch (12/14).
-Dorgath uses his last bag of Flash Powder while wondering where he might find a smoke bomb.
-Carrow shoots a savage orc in the heart, killing it.

As Throg has done before, he activates both of his Chaos artefacts, his chalice giving him a guaranteed hit while his axe empowers his attack. Skrunch maneuvers to avoid the magical blow, but cannot possibly move quickly enough. He is struck in the torso and thrown back into the midst of the savage orcs. Skrunch snarls...

"No human can kill me!"

...then he falls over and dies. Apparently he was wrong. Ignoring Skrunch's death, the shaman exhorts his troops to continue attacking. However, they are stunned by Dorgath's flash powder.

-Throg charges the savage orcs and kicks at them, but trips on the uneven tiles and crashes into a wall.
-Dorgath hacks into a savage orc (4 damage).
-Dorgath kicks, but a savage orc intercepts and the attack hits its bow.
-Kelgar charges, but his target ducks beneath his hammer while drawing a crude sword.

Round 2
-The Power Phase is 3 for this turn.
-A savage orc shaman casts Da Krunch. The mighty foot of Gork stamps down on Throg (9/19).
-Kelgar fails to bless anything.

Dorgath continues to fight his way to the orc shaman, but is better prepared now that he knows the orcs have protective tattoos.
