First off, amazing stuff this week! I can't wait to get these in the cardinfo datafile.
Second... No matter how much your Legend costs, if you want it to mimic a spell (like, say... Counterspell) for the same cost as the actual spell, you'll have to add "discard a card" to the cost. Counterspell abilities in particular will have to cost "1UU, Tap, discard a card:"

("Severance" sounds both Legendary and like an instant ot sorcery. Other suggestion of course are welcome. "Insolent Vampire," perhaps?)

Ascention cannot leave play in any way.
When Ascention comes into play, remove target Legend creature from the game. That creature's controller gains life equal to that its power plus toughness, may draw a number of cards equal to its converted mana cost, and may search his or her library for up to four lands which produce mana of the creature's color and put those lands into play tapped, then shuffle that library.
If another copy of Ascention would come into play, instead remove it from the game.
If another copy of the removed Legend creature would come into play, instead remove it from the game.
