Land: High Market (I hate thievery, this stops blue mages from stealing your creatures)
Artifact: My Beta Sol Ring (my only Beta card)
Black: Corpse Dance (if it was good once...)
Blue: Arcane Denial (so splashable)
Red: Mogg Fanatic (oops, where'd he go)
White: StP (we'll have no more of that)
Gold: Elemental Augury (enough mana, and you'll never get the card you need)
Green: Saving my absolute favorite for last, Gaea's Blessing, I LOVE THIS CARD!!!!!!!!

White: Soltari Trooper (Come on, little Trooper!) or Mother of Runes
Green: Recycle
Red: DWARVEN BERSERKER!!! (esp. with Dwarven Armorer--"I'll attack with my 3/3 guy, and if you block him, he becomes a 6/3 trampler!" and Dwarven Thaumaturgist--"And with damage on the stack, he becomes 3/6--KILL THAT!!")
Black: Pestilence--that card is SO cool. I've got an awesome multiplayer Pestilence deck.
Blue: DISRUPT! (the BEST counterspell variant ever--"I'll Duress you." "DISRUPT BABY! I get a CARD!"--It's also cheap enough to be extremely useful in winning counter wars)

I'm very enthusiastic about the cards I like.

Gold: Sliver Queen - the first massively published five colour card.
Land: Sorrow's Path - mostly out of pitty...

Maybe, WoTC should release another one of those gold-bordered sets that are allowed in casual play only...You could put them in decks for fun w/ friends, but would be laughed out of any tournaments you put them in

Hasn't it always been that way? I was first introduced to the game by a guy that would walk into the club I used to spend my Tuesdays at calling himself the "Cardboard Crack Dealer". He was a bit of a psycho, but always gave great deals...

But nowadays you can pretty much care less about what your opponent has unless you really need/want it. Most cards you can buy off of Ebay or the various websites that sell singles (not a bad price as well.). The only problem with todays crowd is all of the old people using hundreds of dollars to buy out card stores to fatten up their collection so that they can deal with the people and keep most of it for themselves.

I like to find nice little flea markets and buy cards from them because most of the time they have the older packs and sell the singles for a decent price...

50.00 for a 7th ed. Serra Angel is just pushing to have your store clerk beaten with a stick, and the store trashed.
