Oversoul

The Tentacled One
What does Rebound do?
"Each time the target is attacked this turn, roll a D6. On a 6, all Wounds that the attack inflicted are rebounded onto whoever caused them. This does not rebound spells."

-Continuing combat...
-The Sword of Hoeth is like lightning in Carrow's hand. Carrow gains double attacks for the turn.
-Carrow slices a witch elf (1 damage).
-Carrow misses.
-Carrow hacks through a witch elf (6 damage).
-Carrow impales a witch elf with a finishing blow.
-Skullcrusher slashes a witch elf (4 damage).
-Skullcrusher's Weeping Blade deals 4 damage to a witch elf.
-Tomas stabs a witch elf (3 damage).
-Tomas cuts a witch elf's neck (5 damage).
-A beastman champion slams Dorgath (10/21 Wounds).
-A beastman champion crushes Dorgath (7/21 Wounds).
-A beastman champion charges Tyresius, but the pit fighter deflects the attack.
-A beastman champion tries to kick Tyresius, but slips and falls down.
-Ty swings his flail into his opponent (9 damage).
-Ty attempts a knee strike, but trips over the beastman he is fighting and falls to the ground himself.
-Kelgar bashes a witch elf to bits.
-Kelgar's deathblow doesn't swing far enough, missing the next witch elf.
-Dorgath chops a beastman champion (5 damage).
-Dorgath swings again, catching the beastman a second time (3 damage).
-Dorgath completely misses his kick attack in an even more spectacular fashion than the other attacks that have been missing lately. It's so far off it's comical, really.

Otto is wearing down under Darenaeok's flurry. He loses his grip on his rapier, leaps to recover it, and is kicked to the ground. As Darenaeok moves in for the kill, Otto suddenly flips his rapier back into his hand and drives his blade through Darenaeok's heart.

"That's for my sisters."

Darenaeok seems rather nonplussed for a man who has just been impaled on a sword. He yanks Otto's rapier out of his chest and runs him through with his own sword. Otto, not displaying such superhuman resilience, collapses.

"Oh right. I remember you now. Looks like you should have stayed home. Now then, let's finish this. The elf, fools. Kill the elf!"

Darenaeok begins casting another spell...

Who/what the hell is this guy? Is Darenaeok even bleeding? Is there a hole in his shirt? Or is he some sort of projection?

Ty will continue to fight whomever gets in his way, trying to clear a path to Darenaeok...:)

Would shooting him disrupt his spellcasting? Would shooting him in the mouth shut him up? Would a well-placed firebomb do the trick?

"C'mon guys! Get Darenaeok!" Ty yells as he redoubles his efforts.

True, and an accurate observation Melkor, but the idea was to spitball an idea out there while simultaneously bumping the thread in an effort to catch Oversoul's eye with a reason to attract his attention however ridiculous the premise...;)

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
-The Power Phase is 6 for this turn.
-Dorgath's Lifestone of Ashraz heals 2 of his Wounds.
-Skullcrusher blasts Darenaeok with his Lightning Fire Ring (14 damage). Darenaeok staggers.
-Tomas casts Lifebringer, healing Dorgath for 5, Carrow for 4, Tyresius for 2, and himself for 6.
-Darenaeok casts a spell, but Dorgath's Amulet of Vindication blocks its effects.
-Kelgar blesses himself and Carrow with Vanquish. They gain extra attacks this turn.
-A witch elf hacks at Skullcrusher, but the assassin ducks away from the blow.
-A witch elf's attack is rebounded by Skullcrusher's Warpstone Talisman (2 damage).
-Carrow moves to shoot Darenaeok. He is struck by a dart and falls to his knees. Another cloaked figure stands casually on the roof of a nearby building, poised to throw more darts...

Although she's clad in the same style of cloak as Darenaeok, you can see enough of her face to tell that she is a dark elf. She shouts down to Darenaeok...

"What are you doing? Quit playing around down there."
"Khaligri, I could use some help here. This bunch are more trouble than they look."
"That's because you started early, fool."
"I had no choice. Carrow Darkweald found us."
"Wait, is that him?"
"Indeed."
"Then it's over. He's dying. If I'd known it would be this easy I'd have camped out on rooftops weeks ago."
"Khaligri, I don't think that you hit him quite that hard."
"I spelled that dart. Nothing can survive it."
"Oh. Then kill the others and we'll get the invasion underway."
"Easily done."

Khaligri's darts are flung away. She shrieks and two swords emerge through her torso. Then she falls off the roof. Revaethan (an elven warrior that you guys totally met already even if this has taken so long in real life that you forgot about it by now) leans over from the rooftop and admires his handiwork. He calls down to you...

"Oops, I lost my swords doing that! Hey, hold on. I'll be down there to help soon. Keep Carrow alive for me."

While that's going on...

-Skullcrusher leaps onto the last witch elf and finishes his opponent off.
-Tomas readies magical countermeasures for Darenaeok's next spell.
-A beastman champion clobbers Dorgath (15/21).
-A beastman champion lunges at Dorgath, but trips and tumbles over him.
-A beastman champion swings for Ty, but the pit fighter narrowly sidesteps.
-A beastman champion charges Ty, but Ty nimbly slips behind him.
-Ty accidentally hits himself with his own flail again (14/15). I'm not saying use the fist spike. I mean the flail hits harder, but I'm going to run out of clever things to say about you hitting yourself and I just wish that you'd stop...
-Ty knees his opponent in the gut (4 damage).
-Ty lands a huge knee strike (8 damage).
-Kelgar blindsides the beastman champion that is tangling with Dorgath.
-Kelgar's Ring of Command increases the Strength of his attack...
-Kelgar bashes a beastman champion (7 damage).
-Kelgar clips the monster with another attack (2 damage).
-Dorgath raises his axe, then fumbles it for a bit.
-Dorgath chops his opponent's body (7 damage).
-Dorgath misses his kick attack again.
-Kelgar's Ring of Jade heals Dorgath of 6 Wounds, fully restoring him! Praise Sigmar.

Next round...

-The Power Phase is 6 for this turn.

I'd meant to get to this sooner. I was on vacation for a bit and then was distracted afterward. Upside is that I'll be getting a new job soon that won't be such a timesink as my current one has been.

"Praise Sigmar *and* Valaya! Tomas, keep healing Carrow!" Dorgath continues to fight through the mob to get to Darenaeok.

Congratulations on the new gig Oversoul! Hopefully it'll come with a BIG raise...;)

Who/what the hell is this guy? Is Darenaeok even bleeding? Is there a hole in his shirt? Or is he some sort of projection?
Still wondering if he's bleeding, though he seemed susceptible to magic damage just now...

Ty will continue to fight whomever gets in his way, leading with the fist spike especially when he has a shot at that special movement bonus move while trying to clear a path to Darenaeok...:)

What will you be doing?
Working in Environmental Health & Safety for a university. Some of the work I've already done on the campus as a contractor has overlap with the job I'll be doing, so it should be a good fit.

Congratulations on the new gig Oversoul! Hopefully it'll come with a BIG raise...
Not a very big raise as far as actual gross income, but I'll be working steady 40-hour weeks instead of averaging closer to 60 hours a week like I have been. Better benefits too.

Still wondering if he's bleeding, though he seemed susceptible to magic damage just now...
He is displaying supernatural resilience. If he were a normal human, he'd have bled out multiple times by now. His wounds don't really seem to be healing, but his armor does seem to be gradually repairing itself in the places where Otto struck him. Carrow's arrow remains broken off in Darenaeok's shoulder and that wound has bled some, but he seems able to ignore it.

-Darenaeok summons more portals.
-Tomas casts Freeze! A freezing wind swirls through the area, striking both beastman champions and Darenaeok for 3 damage.
-Tomas casts Ogre Strength on Tyresius (+2 Strength this turn).
-Kelgar blesses Dorgath and himself with Vanquish (+1 Attacks this turn).
-Skullcrusher hits a beastman with a throwing star, but fails to do any damage.
-Tomas attempts to heal Carrow with his magic. He fails to counteract the dark elf's magical poison.
-A beastman lunges at Ty, but just misses him.
-A beastman kicks Ty in the ribs (10/15 Wounds).
-A beastman swipes Dorgath, but the dwarf's heavy armor keeps him protected.
-A beast man lands a blow on Dorgath, but again fails to get through his armor.
-Ty attempts to stab a beastman, but pushed away.
-Ty cuts down his opponent (11 damage) and moves into position to attack another enemy.
-Ty slashes at a beastman, but the monster ducks.
-Ty knee strikes, but the beastman nimbly avoids it.
-Ty lands a knee strike (6 damage), nearly disemboweling the monster. The last beastman champion wobbles and collapses, alive but no longer conscious.
-Kelgar easily dispatches his prone foe.

Dorgath charges Darenaeok. Before anyone else can move to help him, a shimmering barrier appears on the street. On one side is Darenaeok, Dorgath, and Otto (prone and bleeding out). On the other side is Tyresius, Kelgar, Tomas, Skullcrusher, Carrow (prone and afflicted by dark elf magic), and a whole lot of portals. Also Khaligri, who rises to her feet despite having two swords lodged in her torso. She beckons and forces of Chaos emerge through the portals.

-Dorgath chops Darenaeok (3 damage).
-Dorgath swings again, but Darenaeok sidesteps the attack.
-Dorgath's kick attack fails to connect.

Corticruss dashes onto the scene with yet another warrior in tow, an axe-wielding, fur-clad human whom you've never seen before. Corticruss assesses the situation, then shouts...

"Quickly, we need to divide our forces. Someone will need to find a way to heal Carrow and it may take a couple more to keep the beastmen off of him. Dorgath, do be careful: I'm sensing powerful magic on the man you're fighting and I don't think you can kill him by yourself. Everyone else should surround this dark elf sorceress and destroy her. She appears to be very strong, but she is already weakened and can eventually be killed if we attack her together. That should bring down the barrier too. My comrade and I will follow your lead. Decide who is best suited for each task..."

Khaligri smiles and begins preparing her spells.

If you make the same money but work less hours to do it I'd say that qualifies as a raise Oversoul, so yeah, kewl...:)

Ty, frustrated in his efforts to get to Darenaeok, will turn his attention toward Khaligri and will attempt to tackle her and interrupt her spellcasting by punching his fist spike into her face while grinding knee spikes into her abdomen...:)

(If his initial attack is rebuffed, or if he takes any more wounds he'll use his Lifestealer Talisman on Khaligri)

This seems to have turned into a major adventure!

"Someone look to Otto too!"

Dorgath will use his Skull Wand of K on Darenaeok.

"Dark Elf magic is no match for the light of Sigmar, as long as our faith is strong, we shall surely succeed!" I'll go see if I can heal Carrow.

"Someone look to Otto too!"
Dorgath, Otto, and Darenaeok are the only ones on one side of the shimmering barrier. For plot-related reasons, Darenaeok will not assist Otto. I'm sure his wound isn't that bad though, and he'll get back up any minute now. Everyone else is doing it.

So right now I've got...

Throg: Still away on his personal quest for animal companionship.
Dorgath: Fighting Darenaeok.
Carrow: Knocked down and weakened by a magic dart.
Kelgar: Moving to heal Carrow.
Tyresius: Fighting Khaligri.
Otto: KO'd.
Revaethan: Taking the long way down from the rooftop of a nearby building.
Tomas: Awaiting instructions.
Skullcrusher: Awaiting instructions.
Corticruss: Awaiting instructions.
Corticruss's Barbarian ally: Awaiting instructions.
