To make a poison counter deck, you cant really hard cast much..
heres what i came up with.. it wins more often than it should.

the most threatening serpent is definately marsh viper.. giving 2 poison per hit. Problem 3G for a 1/2.

12 Forests
4 Islands
4 Yavinmaya Coasts

4 Wall of Junk/ Fog Banks

4 Treetop Scouts
4 Scryb Sprites
4 One With Nature
3 Hurricanes
3 Feremef Archers
3 Sabretooth Cobra
4 Marsh Vipers

3 Sigil of Sleep
3 Hermetic Study
3 Wind Dancer
3 Launch

Turn one play one of the 8 1cc creatures with evasion if you can (treetop can only be blocked by fliers, scryb is flying)
Play one with nature, or sigil of sleep on the sprite to slow your opponent or net you SICK lands

after attacking 2-3 times with a one 1cc one with nature'd creature.. they can die

t1:forest, scryb,
t2:island, one with nature (fetch for forest)
T3: you have 4 lands, 5 if you hit, 6 if you play a 2nd nature

aside from that you have marsh vipers you can give flying with wind dancer, or slap a hermetic study on.. or launch to give them flying

Feremef archers deal 4 to fliers so with wind dancer or launch you can pick off some creatures.

Mass hurricane for the kill if you like.

Sabretooths are bait, really.. Theyre pretty good, but mainly bait to be a lightning rod.

lmk whatcha think

I've seen a deck somewhat similar to this, except the guy used Viridian Longbow, since it stuck around even after your poison critter was killed. :D Though more expensive, it is better since it is generic mana and stays in play...and can even be moved around in case somebody uses something like Pacifism.

Viridian Longbow was probably just what was needed for the older poison decks anyway. Adding blue was theorized by myself and others a couple of years ago, but it never saw fruition as far as I know. With the Longbow, there's at least one way to turn a Pit Scorpion into a poisonous engine without splashing blue or anything...

I like the idea, but you may be able to speed it up by giving something double strike and untapping it...

for the viper, that means six poison counters per turn...;)

What would you use to untap it though? Most of that stuff is blue...

That would pretty quickly finish the opponent off though...

I guess you could use Immobilizing Ink, but that requires discarding 2 cards per untap... plus another pinger on it.... maybe use it against opponents?

GREEN:
Awakening
Instill Energy
Nature's Chosen

BLUE:
Intruder Alarm
Mind over matter,
Pemmin's aura!!!...

Fireshrieker + Viridian Longbow + Instill Energy

these seem like good uses of cards while keeping in color. Pemmin's Aura is by far the best untap abuser, but its reliance on heavy blue makes it difficult to use properly.

Horseshoe Crab's a good untap abuser too...

This guy in MP would put Hermetic Study and Charisma on it, then steal everyone's creatures...

Kind of left him tapped out so that he couldn't do anything about my Kaervek's Torch for 20...

Must've been a long game to torch for 20...

Nice to see the torch being used though... It even smirks at FoW...

:D
