(Looks to see if the statues seem moveable - are there cracks between their feet and the base they are one, etc...)

Rondo checks the area in the center, and around where the statues are for traps/recent stonework, etc.

"I don't know of much... but be careful when checking the body... these statues are not fixed to the ground..."

(finishes is examination and draws his bow aiming it at the body...)

I didn't find any traps, but the stonework on the statues seems a bit puzzling... it's not "old" but it's not "new". The craftsmanship though - the statues are extremely lifelike, down to details like hair and scars and such on the statues...

Well, I am no criminologist, however, the Death Stroke to this particular fellow, was a dagger in the back, straight to the heart it appears.

Not sure if that gets us any closer to solving this riddle.....any ideas?

"Not from me... I'm going to look over the room a bit more..."

(Begins scanning the room for anything that seems out of place...)

Oh, one last thing, it looks like this guy in the uniform was the leader, like a seargent or something, his uniform is decorated a little better than those on the statues...

New thought, maybe he was more experienced, and could avoid being turned into stone while the lesser ones really had no chance. I think maybe we should be wary of the same fate. I have heard rumors of creatures whose mere gaze can stone a person, but never really believed them until now...

(Are there any doors in any other walls to this room... I wasn't sure if you might have missed describing it as you detailed the statues.)

"nothing seems out of place except this dead guy..."

Nope, no other doors except the one you came through in this room. Rondo could tell you more since he searched the room...

(nice subtle hint there...)

"I can't tell much - what did you find Rondo?"

I think we can't overlook that he was in similar garb to the guy who attacked us - and he dealt the same death blow he did to our friend Devan, a highly accurate dagger throw. He said something about stolen treasure... I think he perhaps went insane and attacked his own before attacking us. When he attacked he mentioned a name (which I shall not utter in the midst of these statues without everyone at the ready should they come to life).

"Well, without more reason to stay here... I say we move on if Rondo didn't find much more..."

Agreed here as well, not sure which i dread more, the statues coming to life, or whatever turned them into statues attacking us....
