"So, do we lock the trap an see what's on the other side of that door or what?!?!?"

If that's the case, then let's proceed. I had thought for some reason that the fall damaged Cugel more. But if everyone's fine, then nevermind about that last potion. We'll save it for later. Now, where were we?

(Sorry, I thought you were inquiring about the status of everyone else since you should know your own status via the PM. The fall *did* hurt Cugel pretty bad - he's lost over half his HP. I was just referring to the rest of the party having "cuts and scrapes".)

Currently the party is roughly in the doorway of the chalkboard room and the pit room, with Karnage on the other side of the pit room at the other door.

*And we've only 1 potion left...hmmm. Maybe we should head out for an overall healing at this point...What do you guys think?*

**I agree... we pooled all our gold to get those and I don't believe we'll afford any more... There's a lot of dungeon left. Should we try to sell some of those suits of plate yet? or would it attract undue attention in town?**

*And if it would, could we make a short road trip to another town nearby to do a little bartering?*

(Haven is the only town in the vicinity. It's a small kingdom :)

Selling the plate armor will be pretty difficult, with the kingdom in a disorganized state with its leaders trapped in the palace. As I said in the intro, the citizens are "confused and helpless". Daily life has pretty much been suspended until the crisis passes.

If you want to heal up, the Protectors will open a way out and back in.)

** How many more times can we do that Spidey? You mentioned it was limited...**

(Yeah, I never decided on a number.... but since it's true that you can't really heal with a spell due to clerics not getting a spell at 1st level, I'll waive the limited part. However, it does take time to travel to and fro the entrance, so be warned that wandering monsters can still be encountered...)

Bring 'em on - we'll just keep cugel near the back o' the pack...

I do think we should at least head into town with a few of the suits of plate mail... you never know...

"Well guys - if we're banged up enough to need the rest - we'd better take it...we don't need to lose anyone and not have a way to get them back... Let's see if we can use some of the plate mail and discarded weapons to get something from town..."

**I don't want to twist your arm... but if we were 2nd level we'd have a lot fewer problems... :D We'd still be very mortal, 2nd level basic chars aren't all that much safer. But we'd have a somewhat better damage buffer and also a cleric with 1 Cure Light (or whatever they get).**

**If we want to continue, I still have my spell for the day, I've been holding it for when we run into a few clerics again... I think Si' Nat still has his as well. So if we're taking a poll, I'm for proceeding with extreme caution - until I've cast my spell in which case I'll want to rest after.**

Yeah, I can always just stay toward the back and shoot stuff and hope I don't get hit by another trap or something. I think proceeding with caution should work.

*K - we'll continue on then, keeping Cugel towards the back and risking the traps ourselves I guess...At least until we use up the spells anyways...;)*

Karnage simply grunts and turns back to the door, waiting for everyone else to stop their useless banter and get ready... Sword drawn.

The door opens to a room 20' east-west and 30' north-south, with the door you opened in the middle of the west wall. You see shelves covering most of the walls, which are filled with books and scrolls. There are also a number of wooden chairs and tables in the room. You notice the room has more candles to light it than usual (which are currently unlit). There is an unlit fireplace against the south wall. Another door is in the middle of the east wall.

Rondo grunts. "Books," he says, "an scrolls an such hold no interest for a dwarf...Lemme know when we finds some weapons or armor!" He gives the stonework in the room a quick scan, then goes and guards the door in the west wall, quietly watching for patrols.

*Can we reset the pit trap? Just for fun? :)*
