Throg easily smashes through the trapdoor with his axe. The lantern illuminates a small cell containing a tinderbox, a key, a candle, and a rather dirty prisoner (a bearded man of indeterminate age).

 

[Mooseman]

Maybe if the dwarves jump on it......

Throg will take all of the items lying about and poke at the rather dirty prisoner.

 

[Spiderman]

Is he awake? If so, Dorgath asks, "Ho there! Who are you and how did you come to be down here?"

"I think he's dead."

 

[Mooseman]

Prisoners aren't dead, they call those corpses

I don't know... I poked him 40 days ago and he still hasn't responded. Methinks something might be amiss.

 

[Spiderman]

He could be in stasis....

 

[Mooseman]

Zombies never die they just decompose.

 

[Oversoul]

The prisoner bolts out of the cell. He seems mildly disoriented, but not injured otherwise unusual.

Yeah, I know I've been absent again. School (and also I moved). I probably won't be on much for the rest of this quarter. If it's my turn in any forum games or anything, do bug me about it and I'll try to respond promptly if I can.

Dorgath repeats his inquiry, "Ho there! Who are you and how did you come to be down here?"

 

[Oversoul]

"Who am I? Just a hapless captive of the evil things that dwell here. A trader who approached too close. I suppose I owe you my life. Thank you."

 

[Mooseman]

What evil things? Can you make i tout yourself?

 

[Spiderman]

"How long have you been down here? Which creatures took you captive?"

 

[Oversoul]

"Uh, orcs, I think. It was orcs. At least I think so. If you give me the candle and tinderbox, I can make it out myself."

 

[Spiderman]

"Hold on now. How did you get down here? Who were you expecting to trade with?"

 

[Oversoul]

"Well, I suppose I can tell you, since you did save my life. I wasn't brought down here. I initially ventured into these ancient tunnels on my own. I used to be an Imperial historian, in the libraries of Altdorf. I came down here because I heard rumors of great treasure. I foolishly thought I could obtain the treasure myself. But I'm clearly not fit for this sort of work. Perhaps you'll succeed where I could not."

"Who captured you? And in what direction might we be able to find them?"

 

[Spiderman]

"What kind of treasure?"
