It's in MaRo's column this week (see here), Wizards cancelled this years invitational..

It's sad but true, we're becoming Wizards cash cow, and they no longer wish to spend money on something that doens't give an immediate return. It is a shame really, I always look forward to the invitational

Edit: no, I don't know why this ended up in N&R Members, it was supposed to be in CPA/WOTC issues, could you move it Spidey?

It's a pity, because the Invitational was the only real magic show I found interesting. Surprising formats, weird matchups, fan favorites, nice stories. Worlds is boring compared to the Invitational.

Well, hopefully it'll come back... Mark said there's been intervals of 18 months before, so there's always hope...
