Thallids

Ok, I was playing a multiplayer game with a two friends and decided to play my thallid deck which goes something like this:

4 Paradox Haze
4 Deathspore Thallid
4 Sporesower Thallid
2 Thelon of Havenwood
2 Sprout
2 Scatter the Seeds
2 Fallen Ideal
etc.....

And I was accused of pllaying a broken deck. I was actually quite proud of my deck as it worked really well and I suppose now I come to think of it, it was very easy to make. Find good thallids/fungus and put them in followed by a few sac effects and saproling generators.

However this same person plays a Lorwyn Elf deck which many people I play with regard as broken and simply no fun to play against.

So my actual question is this, which do people think are too overpowered or broken and which aren't? It seems that the entire Lorwyn block was a bit mental because it was tribal but my Thallid deck still doesn't go as mad as an Elf deck can when it's left alone for a turn (at least not until I buy Doubling Season :p).

<shrug> Those (and Goblins and Zombies and Clerics) are probably the strongest tribes out there, but obviously someone packing a anti-tribe card could mess 'em up in a heartbeat, upon which a player playing said tribe would probably declare that deck "broken" :)

So while they have their powers, they have their weaknesses, as all decks should. So I guess it depends on what side you're on :)

If you're playing tribal, I can imagine you want to ban some tribes. Elves, goblins and slivers make competitive decks, and their place in a casual meta is... debatable. However, if you play non-tribal multiplayer and there's no player packing silver bullets (tutorable singletons) like Night of soul's betrayal or simply Engineered plague, then something is wrong.

Or it creates an opportunity for you. I'd like a playgroup with only elf players.

No it won't, just like a single Coat of Arms won't win you the game ;)

Q: What could wreck a Thallid deck?

Youngbeard ran a Thallid deck back in January at the MML game. I think he did extremely well with it, maybe he could post it here.
