Poisonous 1 (Whenever a Sliver deals combat damage to a player, that player gets a poison counter. A player with ten or more poison counters loses the game.)
Not to be confused with...
Infect (This creature deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters.)

Your slivers have poisonous 1, so by my count, Melkor would only receive 3 poison counters and take 9 damage, as Rokapoke pointed out.
