I don't think so, not when you're just talking about the cards which are different from their actual printing, and even a smaller set if you're just talking about the cards in your deck or are likely to face (which is obviously not going to be eight pounds)...

"Lug" would mean that what you are transporting has considerable weight (to the extent that it is burdensome). Of course, another verb might not denote considerable weight. Is that nitpicking? I don't know. I guess it could be...

I wouldn't say that "lug" is "bad" though. I mean, the burdensomeness of something is at least somewhat subjective, right?

Like, "I like to lug around my box of decks just in case I find a place to play MTG"
