D&D: Palace of the Silver Princess

(begins loosening one strap...)

"Well... I need you to think about why you were in here... were you trying to escape, or did your party come in here trying to kill all these creatures?... And - would you be willing to help us kill all of these creatures?..."

 

[Oversoul]

*keeps an eye on the newcomers, in case they're not what they seem*

 

[Spiderman]

"We're just trying to get out! There's too many of those monsters in here, we're getting slaughtered! Hey, you guys look pretty strong - maybe you can help us to the way out?"

 

[TomB]

"I reckon dat solved dat...C'mon lads! Let's search these guys an tie 'em up while the elf looks at the papers..."

*Did my search find anything useful/suspicious?*

 

[Spiderman]

Oops, sorry... nothing useful, just various states of armor that equates to leather and swords... nothing out of the ordinary.

Si'Nat

"Would you help us through this palace if we fought with you to slaughter these monsters?... Or, would you be able to get us supplies and items in town if we helped you find your way out?.."

 

[Spiderman]

"Sorry, we were just here for the celebration. We just want to get out and rejoin our families. We might be able to help with supplies and other items though."

 

[train]

Si'Nat

"Well... let's strike a deal then... We get you home to your families, and you tell us all you know about the palace and help us get supplies and other items... Our side of the deal begins with untying all of you and leading you home..."

(Si'Nat turns to his party members...)

"Is this alright with all of you?..."

*Since my search seemed to confirm there's nothing suspicious about these guys, it's alright with me...*

 

[Prince RXI]

Karnage mearly grunts and starts to walk around, prepared to kill anything that becomes a threat... *not these weaklings we tied up though^_^*

 

[Spiderman]

"It's a deal!"

 

[TomB]

"So're we jus headin for the front door from here? When do they tell us what they know? Once we're OUTSIDE?" Rondo shakes his head and grumbles to himself as he prepares to lead the group back to the front door. "Sounds like a GREAT deal you made for us here, elf..."

*I guess we'll backtrack the route we took coming in here, being careful to lock and reset the trap we just dealt with along the way...We'll use the standard marching order when we leave, with the new guys bringing up the rear and perhaps Karnage at the back to calm their fears about being attacked enroute...*

 

[BigBlue]

**Glad to be back... **

"We'd better track down their friend who took off to the North."

 

[Spiderman]

As you untie them and get ready to head off, they congregate in a small group near the rear where you placed them. They seem to be holding a animated conversation, with you overhearing snippets like:

"....you crazy..."
" think we... trust..."
"are... sure..."

In response to Patrick's remark, they shrug and say "There's no telling where he might have gone. This place is one big maze!"

They look with interest as you reset the trap.

As you're marching through the long north-south corridor, right when you're at the middle where the door to the stairs going down are, you're surprised to see the door fly open and a small group of ugly humanoids fall through. They pick themselves up off the floor and snarl at you, looking quite hostile.

 

[TomB]

"Get 'em lads!" he shouts, "They're orcs!" He charges the orcs with axe in hand.

*Need current map view Spidey...*

 

[Spiderman]

(Oh yeah, sorry...)

**Seeing as we're leaving....**

Patrick casts Sleep targetting the Orcs...

 

[Prince RXI]

Karnage charges forward and beats the orcs with the skinny side of his blade *I hope...^_^*

 

[Oversoul]

*arrows away*

 

[Spiderman]

Unfortunately, they gain the initiative first.

Round 1

Snarling and growling, one attacks Rondo and one attacks Si'Nat (the front line guys) while the other two await their chance in the narrow hallway. Both manage to escape unscathed.

The four humans, apparently seeing this as an opportunity, cry "For Arik!" and also explode into action. Two attack Karnage while one each attacks Devin and Cugel. Cugel suffers a slight gash while Karnage and Devin manage to beat off the surprise attacks.

(I'll let you guys readjust your actions in light of this; I should have rolled initiative yesterday Remember the order: orcs, Rondo & Si'Nat, Bertrem and Patrick, Cugel and Devin, the four humans, and last Karnage)
