(I am a little curious about the statues and will check them out... sword drawn and ready...)

"What's we got here?..."

(Crap. Accidently deleted train's post about swinging at the statues with his sword. Sorry dude)

Si'Nat swings at the statue and nicks it with a small gash. To his and everyone's surprise however, the statue swings back, just missing him. The other statue also moves in towards him.

Karnage's eyes light up with amusement... and his blade flashes in the torch light as it swings forward to strike a statue, not caring which one.

Patrick backs up and readies himself to throw daggers....

(this could be trouble, me thinks)...

*That was dumb...:(*

Rondo draws his axe and moves in to defend any attacks. "Ya couldnta' found somthin softer to fight, elf," he snarls at Si'Nat as he moves past into position.

*We should get the meat shields into action too...they're not doing anything anyways...:(*

Round 1

The statues get the initiative. The one facing Si'Nat swings and hits, opening up a serious gash in his armor. The second one swipes at Karnage but fails to connect.

Si'Nat strikes back and shatters an arm. Karnage swings but misses. Patrick throws a dagger which strikes a glancing blow but doesn't do any noticeable damage. Rondo moves in to help Si'Nat and with a mighty blow, shatters the entire statue. Devin scores a hit on the remaining statue and shatters some crystals.

Round 2 - Statue gets initiative again.

Karnage is again lucky as he dodges its blow.

The party's up.

(Not sure where Azrael is. I left him a PM and posted in a thread he posted in recently about this game. I think DarthFerret is also busy but not sure if you really want him to move into H2H combat. I will if you guys are sick of "carrying" him around :)

(perform the retreat action mentioned in the PM... picking up crystals once the battle is over and coast is clear...)

Release another dagger at the remaining statue.

**here's my opinion on the other 'meat shields'... If we involve them in combat they will leach away our experience even though they aren't participating in the rest of the story... So, I say we take our chances without using them, especially now that we can at least kill these things... I was worried we wouldn't be able to affect them.**

(that's a good point BB - but is the experience limited to only those involved in combat, or those with the party?... Basic D&D I didn't play much of... advanced was 2nd was more my realm...Dragonlance to be exact...)

**I don't care who else fights so long as Karnage gets to have some fun^_^**

Karnage continues to slash and hack with his big sword.

*Cugel scrambles away from the statues, but quickly calms down and rushes the nearest statue with his sword, uncertain as to whether an arrow would have had any effect on them.*

Rondo continues to attack the statue since it is continuing to attack the party...:)

(Sorry, for some reason I forgot to post yesterday  )

Patrick throws another dagger but it flies wide.

Si'Nat retreats to a spot a bit farther away from the statue, fires an arrow and just nicks it.

Karnage delivers a massive blow that nearly crushes it. Nearly.

Cugel's swing just misses.

Rondo is too impatient with his attack and also misses.

Devin manages to finish the statue off however. It shatters into pieces of crystal.

Si'Nat starts gathering a little of crystal and puts it in his pouch.

(About the XP, it's all gathered in one lump and doled out to everyone in the party. I might give little XP awards for particularly creative thinking or playing in character, but generally, it all gets divided equally to the party. So... the less party, the more XP the remainder get :) )

*Well, actually, I was hoping to replace them with active participants, train. I'm sure it would be a good idea to have a cleric in the party. At least, one WITH healing spells available...:p*
