Coronavirus

Seems like it's kind of a big deal. Anyone being affected by it?

My company has a site in California that shutdown due to a potential for exposure.
I also have vacation plans to Europe this summer, so here's hoping the travel ban gets lifted before then.

I was thinking of going to Italy, but with the quarantines, town closures, shutdown of every event and mass hysteria, I think I'll stay home.
Other than the TP shortage (What is up with people and toilet paper?), things are good in western PA.

Yeah, it's definitely affected things over here. Schools shutting down, etc. Now, where I work, the academic side of the campus is only a portion of our operations. We still have plenty of people using hazardous chemicals, so I've been keeping busy.

Lol, well, things changed drastically over the weekend. I’m on a two week “unexpected” vacation as they essentially shut my building and I don’t telework. So all the games I’m in are on hiatus because everything is on my work computer.

Gov Hogan also ordered bars, restaurants, gatherings of more than 50 people closed and prohibited... casinos, racetrack.... grocery store at 5pm yesterday was out of all types of meat, bread, and milk, although I think they get shipments in so have to go earlier in the day...

Things definitely escalated quickly. I hope all these shutdowns work in containing the virus.

I’m being “forced” to telework so should be back sometime later this week, in full.

I don't think anyone around here has used the word "forced" just yet (with or without quotation marks), but there's been some emphasis on it in my department. People have at least been encouraged to telework. My job isn't really one where telework is very practical, though.

Apparently I’m the last one in my area and my boss said there’s strong rumors of denying leave (which is what I’m using now) so.... yeah, I’m being “forced”. Fortunately, it sounds like I don’t have to sign a formal agreement, it’s just for this whole situation, so after I can go back as normal and not be considered a teleworker (because there are a whole bunch of restrictions and requirements you have to follow if you are).

Aaaaand... I'm back. However, since I've been off for 10 days *and* from the whole hacker thing, it'll take me a little while to get back up to speed here and get everything together (like re-creating the missing forums). But it'll get there!

Pretty well, thanks. Of course, my wife and I rarely left the house in the first place, so we've been preparing for this our whole lives :)

I have Agent Orange, I curve side pick up twice a month. I had six months of food storage and went through all of that was surprised how much of that went bad. First week of February 2020 and fell down my cellar steps and that laid me up for three weeks and then covid-19 came along so I've been in the house for 4 months thank God for this format and mooseman.

Yeah retired military. I can't begin to tell you how many times have been injured I just seem to keep coming back for some reason. I have faith in God and I believe that I have a purpose that has not yet been fulfilled I still believe I have miles to go before I sleep, unfortunately the pain is insane that's the only part that bothers me the most LOL.
