Casual deck ideas using ONE Squirrel's Nest?

Okay, thanks to Capt. Caveman's wife, I got one Squirrel's Nest and would like to use it. Obviously, it can't really be the focus of the deck since it's only one.

Should I have an actual "theme" going in that I have 1/1 critters, or just put up a general G/something else deck that uses various cards?

I'm thinking general green with a sliding mana, one Overrun for the heck of it, and either white or red for removal (StP, Disenchant-type stuff, or burn). I do have one Arrogant Wurm and since that was one of the cards listed in the Top 5 Torment thread, I could throw that in.

Capt you have to remember Spideys limited card pool. He doesn't have a lot of the newer cards. Since it is a token generator maybe include some other token generators, a couple untappers(like elder druid) and then some way to use the tokens.

Ya, .. my bad.

I was thinking someone could just give him a few cards. Most
of those a common and uncommon. This weekend I gather up
some cards from my proxie box and sent them out Monday or
Tuesday.

Any color your partial to?

Squirrel Nest + Worship = You become rather difficult to kill.

4 Rancor//Sylvan Might/Symbiosis

I might actually be able to trade for a second Nest!

But until that happens, you guys think I should remain mono-green?

I have a lot of PJ's cards and suggestions, so I can give that a whirl. I do have a lot of the commons from most of the sets, thanks to Griffy, so suggesting commons shouldn't be that much of a problem (except for Torment :) ). And I do have one of each cards that Capt. Caveman suggested, except for Call of the Herd and the Garden.

Just because I have one, would throwing in a Survival and a Verdant Force be okay? What about a Sylvan Library or Mirri's Guile to help decrease the top decking factor?

If you have one, NEVER leave out Verdant Force from mono-green. ;) It might get angry.

There's also no reason to leave out your 1 Kavu Titan. Just toss it in a "Bear" slot.

Survival of the Fittest, Sylvan Library and Mirri's Guile can only increase your cycling efficiency, so I see no reason to leave them out. :D

Apparently those are rare so no Kavu Titan or Spellbane Centaurs.

But with what I got, I put together this:

//NAME: Nesting
2 Druid Lyrist
2 Erhnam Djinn
2 Blastoderm
2 Jolrael's Centaur
2 Trained Armodon
2 River Boa
2 Whirling Dervish
2 Nafs Asp
1 Acorn Harvest
1 Chatter of the Squirrel
1 Heart of Yavimaya
1 Verdant Force
19 Forest
1 Regrowth
1 Overrun
2 Hurricane
2 Creeping Mold
1 Sylvan Library
3 Giant Growth
4 Rancor
2 Uktabi Orangutan
1 Wild Dogs
2 Ghazban Ogre
1 Squirrel Nest
1 Natural Order

I put in some Lyrists for more enchantment removal. I basically spread out the creature mix that PJ suggested; might as well use weird and varied cards, right? Turns out I don't have a Survival after all but isn't there a card where you sacrifice a creature in play to look through your library to either put a creature in your hand or in play? I think that's the one I'm thinking of.... Anyway, goldfishes okay on Apprentice although I think I need some Wild Mongrels or something to help get rid of my mid-game land :)

Well, got a chance to try this out last Friday and it did pretty well; played two games against the green/blue Odyssey(?) pre-con and won both. (although the first game was lucky, my opponent attacked with everything he had 'cause he thought he was gonna lose which opened the door for me to counterattack and win. If he had held back, he could have cast Overrun the next turn and beat me (which he already had in his hand, he didn't top-deck it)).

The only "weakness" I can see so far is playing against threshold. Aside from Tormod's Crypt, are there any green cards that might fit my deck AND help keep my opponent's graveyard thin? The only other one I can think of is Night Soil and not too many creatures went to his graveyard, his was more composed of Predict and land and stuff.

since your playing casual. You could play with Phyrexian furnace out of weatherlight.

Phyrexian furnace
1
artifact
tap: remove the bottom card of target player's graveyard from the game.

1,sacrifice phyrexian furnace: remove target card in any graveyard from the game and draw a card.

also out of weatherlight which may be good fro your deck is call of the wild.

just a few idea's

There's Dwell on the Past, a sorcery for G which allows you to return/shuffle up to 4 cards (your choice, of course) in target player's graveyard to his library. You can use it on your Threshold/Flashback-happy opponent's graveyard to keep his resources to a minimum, or use it on yourself to return your fallen creatures to your library.

Thanks, I don't have any Dwell on the Pasts, but a few Phyrexian Furnaces. I'll try them out along with Tormod's Crypt and see which is better.

i play 4, but ill switch it around so as to have one. its Infinite life/Infinite kill. with this deck, i hand my opponent 10X10 sided die, and ask them to roll it. the number they roll is how many Millions of times i will kill them. its red/Green.

4 Stream of life
1 squirrels nest
4 tinder wall
4 Llanowar elves
4 Fyndhorn elves
4 Kerovaks tourch
4 Fire ball
4 earthcraft
4 city of solitude (counter-stop)
4 howling mine (drawing ability)
3 Birds of Paradise (for faster mana)

8 mountains
10 forests
2 Gaea's Cradle

this deck is rather fun when you get a cradle, earthcraft, and a squirrels nest. you pop out one squirrel, tap it, and untap your land [the nested one] with your earthcraft, then do it an INFINITE amount of times. then you use one red mana and BOOM, hit your opponent for 2193459043218905751987923688250890238590823582340902858239540832 damage with your fireball or kerovaks tourch, or gain that much life with the stream of life. the elves are their to speed up the prosess, and GAURENTEE you wont get screwed with mana.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Cradles....

why are the Streams in there? It seems to be by the time you have the combo going, you'd rather use it for the kill than for the Stream. And if you don't have the combo, is Streaming for what, 4-5 worth it?

I don't think I have any Composts either, but I'll look for them...
