Technicaly, they used to be part of the Treasury Department - which used to also head the IRS and the ATF...what's really ironic is that the Treasury is not officially part of the government. It's true. They are part of the Federal Reserve (or the other way around - I forget.) The Federal Reserve is made up of 12 privately owned banks. They own all the money in the country - not the federal government - and we're more-or-less renting it...Originally posted by Spiderman
