Programmers

I know that there are a few programmers here on the CPA and I was wondering what sort of experience people might have. I know of a potential job oportunity in the gaming industry.

I apologize for using the forums in this way, but I think that this is the best place I have for finding people who already have a familiarity with the industry and I know that programming has come up here before.

I program in COBOL and a little ALC... have dabbled in C++ but haven't really studied it in years...

- Ability to read and maintain visual C# code.
- SQL experience with Access databases
- Interest and experience with TGC design and development

For confidentiality reasons, I don't want to give more information out in a public forum, but if anyone is interested in knowing more, I would be happy to let you know what's going on via PM.

I'm sure he has to drag them through the Fortran to get them home...

I went to college to be a programmer... I even coded in C & C++...

But... I got really tired of it... and I don't want to move anywhere to code, even if it were for something as cool as a TCG... Nor am I interested in giving up my current job. (Plus my C is very rusty...)

I will pass the info on to a friend... is relocation involved? does it require a full-time commitment?

Hey, T-Rexs are mighty yummy! They taste just like chicken! :D

Seriously, you guys know I work for the government. It's been around a long time and the thinking here is that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)

I've got quite a bit of experience in web-programming, stuff like PHP, HTML, CSS and some Java is easy. My C is a bit rusty, but I should still be able to do some Assembly (how's that for dinosaurs ;))

I can program lingo and that's about it. Took a class to learn java and failed... tried to get through HTML but I guess my spacial recognition sucks seeing as I can only get things right using image maps...

But I can play errand boy to a troupe of programmers.

HTML isn't a programming language. It's a markup language. I'm sure someone here understands and can explain the difference better than me...

I'm sure there is a better explanation available if you google for it, but the short version is that you don't actually program anything in HTML, you just say how you want a browser to display stuff, hence the markup part.

I think that HTML is not compiled and is not executable.
Basic (a programming language) is compilable and executable.
