Good news...for me anyway.

Well, I'm trying to forget all the madness that's been all over the place these days and move on into my normal life...

Anyway, some people here already know how I'm literally obsessed with music. It has been my best friend in the past, the cure for my sickness, and I only see it as the endless companion of my life. Some of you know that I’m (or was) in the process of writing and publishing a book of poetry, but after weeks and weeks of thinking, I realized it’s not poetry what I like. It’s the music. My course has changed.

February 8, of 2002, which is my birthday, will be the release of my first non-official album…I along with 2 friends of mine will be collaborating on its work. We don’t know who will be the vocalist, we’re not sure if there are going to be any vocalist at all, and we’re still looking for a person with a voice good voice who's willing to do it for free. The album is not titled yet, but it’s code name is “Sunken Shades.” I wrote all the lyrics, along the help of countless people that provide amazing inputs and ideas. The music composition will be by my 2 friends and me. We’re working on the first single, “Soular Eclipse” (yes, SOULar, not solar), that hopefully will be released no later than mid-January if not earlier. The album will not be ordinary at all. It will be a journey, each track is linked to the next, evading through the realm of the listener’s mind, body, and soul; I made all the lyrics so that they’re “dream-like” – able to evoke all kinds of feelings, thoughts, and emotions that you don’t even know you posses. Hopefully, “Soular Eclipse” will reflect what I’m talking about.

Anyway, I’m just so excited and decided to share. You will be able to hear the song for free on the net, and eventually, hear the whole album. Once you hear my music and feel its power, if you want, I can send you the whole album on compact disc…for free. Not even shipping or handling money…yes, I really want you to feel, through music, what the world is all about…

Before taking the course of the album, we had long, long nights of debates and even fights about what kind of "world" the album should reflect. It settled on the "introspective" world...the world of the listener's own thoughts and feelings. We had religious debates, debates of the heart, uncontrollable desires, and most of all, self-reflection. The album, hopefully, will connect to every listener on so many levels that you'd think the album is talking about your world. That's our goal. :)

Thanks for listening...I'm just dead happy...

Where are you going to record it?

What style of music will it be?

Whatever the case, good luck to you.

I'd love to hear some demos. Post up a link when you get some tracks MP3'd.

Although we agreed that our music style would be very original, there's no resistance against pure inspiration. I admit, I'm very inspired by a lot of music artists...so it's hard not to learn something good from them. We're not gonna limit the style to anything. Soular Eclipse, for example, will have classical piano and some violen, but it will also have trance/dance/techno elements in it.

Don't be surprised if the music sounds in the generes with musical acts like Enigma, Faithless, ATB, Trance Atlantic Airwaves, Delerium, Sandra, Madonna, Intermix, Deep Forest, Front Line Assembly, Lenny Kravitz, Joe Satriani, Mike Oldfield, Moby, Dead Can Dance, and a bunch of others. Expect Soular Eclipse to be dark yet calm; also, we're making it so the listener feels as if he or she is about to make a very wonderful self-discovery. It will start out dark, and slow, then gets a bit more upbeat as it reaches the end. You'll be able to snap to it, as well as lay back, relax, and gaze through the universe of your thoughts. :)

We're not recording this in the U.S. We're doing it in Canada. We have a small studio there.

Also, we're not a band. I just found friends and just a lot of people who're very experienced that want to work with me on the first project.

Full track list from the fist album:

1. Set Sail
2. Unfading Dreams
3. Rain Drop
4. Through the Storm
5. Crescent Sun
6. Soular Eclipse
7. Coming of Light

Like I said, all the tracks will be "connected"...like a journey…like a book unfolding its chapters as you read it. Not just music. Not just lyrics. Something new. You'll enjoy it. I promise.

I await it eagerly, DUke.

From your description, it sounds like a "concept album" like Pink Floyd's The Wall...

Are you considering being a solo-artist, or is this a one-shot deal?

...Orgg. I personally can't wait until I get it started. I really wish you can hear my musical talent. And no, it's not a one time shot. I requested aid on my first attempt from experienced people, and they were great enough to help me. I got so many people, that I'm so thankful that there are so many great souls out there that actually would like to take the time to work with me, seeing how I have nothing to offer them in return except my deepest thankfulness.

This project came along when me and a couple of people decided that we've just had enough. It's amazing: we all felt that we, at different points in time, have felt that words are not enough to describe certain thoughts and feelings. There was just no way. We all reached into our deepest thoughts and decided that if words can't describe these things, nor can art...then music is the way. In fact, it is.

My solo project isn't at work yet, but I have made a lot of plans about what I will be doing. I decided that in each project, I will capture a world of the humanity's mind or point of view. I'll explore everything. From the darkest thoughts, religious, self-denial, sarcifice, war and peace, and even go as far as sexual. I'm eager to discuss each issue with anyone and everyone and arrive to solid grounds about some issues in order to make my music and lyrics more clear. Before the making of each project, I will consult hundereds of friends from all over the world, and ask them for advice and their point of views about the particular matter of the newest project. That's how I know the issue I'm composing and writing about is truthful and right.

Soular Eclipse is hard at work now. Being updated almost everyday, but it's more than just music, it's a piece of artwork...that's why it takes long to make these things. Expect the unexpected. :) Once you hear it, you'll get a feel of the whole album. Hopefully anyone that's interested will have a positive expression about my work from Soular Eclipse, and would be a bit more eager to hear the rest of the works.

Congrats, Dukey! Although your description confused the heck out of me (;)), I eagerly await the chance to hear it.

...birds are easily confused. :)

You wont hear my voice in the album, but you'll hear someone's...man, you should hear my cousin rap! It sounds amazing, because he has an English accent. I can listen to it all day! Heh. My other cousin, which is also a supermodel, she sounds like Dido a bit. I'm sure you who Dido is...

...the problem is, some of us live in the U.S., some in Qatar, some in Germany, and some in Canada...so it's hard recording...we have to do a lot over the net...which isn't that great when it comes to making music.

I forgot to say one more thing: you will NOT need to download the music. It will all be in streaming audio. You click and you hear...and yes, it will be very clear too. :)

...

Thank you Zadok. Thank you Apollo. Thanks again, Orgg and Rando.

Ademis, the album is not offical at all. It's just us group of friends and relatives getting together, capturing the world in our minds and putting it into the album. However, there WILL be a CD, but it will not be "released." It's just for our friends around the world...which you guys in the CPA count as being part of. The supplies will be very limited, but nontheless, I can send few out completely for free, not even shipping money. Like I stated above, each track will be avaliable for your pleasure on the net, on streaming audio. I think you'll be able to download it on MP3 also, but that's not a fact yet.

We're taking our time to make sure each track evokes feelings, emotions, and thoughts. 4 out of the 7 tracks are just musicals...but I assure you, you haven't heard musicals like that before. :) We're mixing world-beats, ambiet sounds, classic orchestra, techno, dance, trance, trip-hop, church chantings, and hip hop...and coming up with something unrealistic. Again, you you'll FEEL what I'm talking about when we release the single, Soular Eclipse. I hope that, in your ears, music would never sound the same. :)

I already have about 200 people around the world "eagerly" awaiting this release, and that, I'm very thankful for. That means we'll actually be heard...maybe even liked...and who knows? Maybe we're the next generation superstars? Heh...yeah, right...

...I wouldn't allow our stuff to be played in MTV...not with the likes of Britney Spears and NSync running around...:p
