Gizmo and galtwish seem to be posting some interesting decks
but I'm surprised that no one has done anything with:

Cowardice
Teferi's Moat
Roshambo
Saploring Burst/Kyren Negotiations
Nether Spirit-Go
Legend or Avatar deck (w/Belbe's Portal)

These are all casual decks. I can't build a good deck or
I'd post something. Does anyone have some ideas?

Thanks
Caveman

4 Llanowar Elves
4 Birds of Paradise
2 Qurion Elves
4 Vine Trellis

4 Kyren Negotiations
4 Sterling Grove
3 Enlightened Tutor
4 Karpulsian Forest
4 Brushland
4 City of Brass
4 Archaeological Dig
3 Forest
4 Mountian

Just a start on that one

U/W control depends entirely on the metagame, IMHO

Cowardice

4 Cowardice
4 Belbe's Armor
4 Defender en-Vec
4 Enlightened Tutor
2 Foil
4 Prohibit
3 Thwart
4 Counterspell
3 Absorb
4 Enlightened Tutor
4 Coastal Tower
4 Adakar Wastes
4 Plains
8 Islands
4 Tower of the Magistrate

Roshambo
4 DPO
4 Chimeric Idol
4 Nether Spirit
1 Thrashing Wumpus

4 Enlightened Tutor
4 Vampric Tutor
4 Dark Ritual
3 Harrow
4 Peat Bog
4 Brushland
4 City of Brass
4 Forest
2 Plains
6 Swamp

Very rough on this one too, but splashing W is so worth it now for both G/x combo enchantment decks

What is Dying Skies,5c green (Coalition Coffeehouse) and
Saporlings a go-go?

Re: Gizmo
Fair enough. All the versions Erik posted look better than
mine but here's what I've got.

Re; Galtwish
Thanks, those look pretty good. Splashing White for the
Grove, in the Roshambo deck sounds like a good idea.

Caveman

Saploring/Negotiations

4 Birds
4 Elves
4 Harrow
4 Saploring Burst
4 Saploring Cluster
3 Natural Affinity
3 Fires of Yavimaya
1 Vitlalize
1 Pack Hunt
1 Worldly Tutor

4 Kyren Negotiations
4 Squee, Goblin Nabo

9 Forest
8 Mountain
4 Karplusan Forest
2 Shivan Oasis

The Fires give the deck a little instant Token(Sap's)beatdown. It kind
of acts like a Crossroads for the Birds and Elves too. (Comments?)

Cowardice

4 Jolting Merfolk
4 Defender en-Vec

4 Absorb
4 Cowardice
4 Counterspell
4 Fact or Fiction
3 Seal of Cleansing

Well, I have nothing too specific yet (not enough Invasion cards to work with), but I've been liking the idea of this type of thing (I'm doing this off the top of my head, I never wrote a decklist for it until now, since I don't have any of cards needed to build it):

Monday Morning (aka The Spirit is Willing, But the Flesh is Weak)

4 Obliverate
4 Urza's Rage
4 Seal of Fire
2 Earthquake

3 Snuff Out
2 Seal of Doom
4 Nether Spirit
3 Cremate
2 Dark Ritual

4 Elfhame Sactuary
3 Harrow
3 Creeping Mold --36

4 R/B Dual
4 R/G Dual
2 Sulferous Springs
2 Karplusean Forest
4 Mountain
6 Swamp
2 Forest

Get the idea? Nether Spirit runs as the kill, with removal for creatures, some enchantment/artifact destruction in Creeping Mold (the deck's weakness), and some acceleration. Not sure how it would work, as I don't have the deck. But the idea is clear. Giz?

Now that there's gonna be so many multi color decks, I think it would be an opportune time to taske advantage by playing ponza. Here's what I play.

Artifacts:
4x Chimeric Idol
4x Fire Diamond

Red Spells:
4x Shock
4x Seal of Fire
2x Ghitu Fire
1x Earthquake
2x Hammer of Bogardan
4x Stone Rain
4x Pillage
2x Tectonic Break
3x Cave-In

Red Creatures:
4x Veteran Brawlers

Land:
19x Mountains
1x Rath's Edge
1x Dust Bowl

Yeah, so.. dust bowl will take such good advantage of everyone playing with the duals and stuff..

Zadok if I could make a suggestion I would say add in some Meteor Storms. From what I can see so far they are a great card that is really underrated, also I may just want to hold on to Ghitu Fire it is an instant blaze that I have used as proxy and it deffinately comes in handy.

Saporling a-go-go is spon-gen, saporling symbiosis, collective unconciousness, and another spon-gen....

I'm working on the exact decklist still.

Coalition coffeehouse is 5c enchantment-counter deck with a side of big creatures.

Dying skies is blue-black blue skies. Cerebus has the decklist. Something like this:

4 opt
4 chimeric idol
4 recoil
4 vendetta
4 waterfront bouncer
3 extravagant spirit
4 troublesome spirit
4 counterspell
4 foil
(Dunno the rest)
4 salt marshes, etc.

'Thou shalt not forget Urborg Drake.'

:)

Caveman, have you considered mono-U Cowardice? I played it for quite a while in MBC, and it was almost always superior to the U/w versions I tried out. I'm not sure if it would remain as such with the release of Invasion, but hey, whatever... The advantage is that Thwart, Foil, and Daze work all that much better, and the bounce is stronger through the AMAZING Rhystic Deluge.

The main flaw is the lack of artifact/enchantment destruction, which I suppose may be worth the splash of white. But if I do say so, Defender sucks, IMHO.

Re: Thrash Golem

I've been flowing your deck because I thought that Ponza
would be and interesting foil too the GreenX decks that
will surely dominate the new standard. The only fear I
have is WW(bears) packing Sheltered Prayers in the SB. Of
course, many of the new deck like GreenX will probably eat
up WW. The only thing I would change in your deck is to
replace the Earthquake with a Urza's Rage. You already have
a lot of mass removal. That's just my opinion.

Re: Zadak001

I haven't played the mono-blue verion Cowardice but I have
seen the one Sean Mckeown posted in his "A Neutral Eye"
coluum. It looked good but I'm not sure how to update it.
Do you have a updated decklist? Is it _really_ slow?

Re: Monday Morning

Is Elfhame Sanctuay any good. I know what it does but skip
your draw step is bad, _no_. I probably don't understand
the deck. (Cavemen are a little dense, you know.)

Re: Duel
Thanks. Do you have a decklist of the Coalition coffeehouse
deck? It sounds interesting.

In a related story, what are the most important cards to
standard, come November? I mean what are the top 5/10 cards
that will be effecting the game?

This is my guess:
Armageddon
Perish(SB)
Urza's Rage
Blastoderm
the various Tutors

Thanks,
Caveman

The idea here was terrible, so I deleted it. (Ankh/Tide)

I thought Duel's B/U Ankh/Tide deck looked pretty good.(bounce based)

Of course, the B/U creature based deck by Gizmo looked pretty good too.

Why don`t we start by building up a deck that is certain to be good (W/G/R) and then seeing what we can make to beat it?

4 Seal Of Fire
2 Shock
4 Earthquake
2 Hammer Of Bogardan
3 Disenchant
4 Armageddon
1 Terror
(18)

4 Birds Of Paradise
4 Vine Trellis
4 Noble Panther
3 Blastoderm
2 Maro
1 Trench Wurm
2 Saproling Burst
(20)

4 City Of Brass
4 Karplusan Forest
4 Brushland
2 Forest
4 Plains
4 Mountain
(22)

Lets look at this for a start - the fatty mix is purely random though, so don`t be too slowto put in other fat stuff you think is appropriate. I`m not sure how good Trench Wurm is, it might be good enough to justify it`s own deck design. Possibly you could build something like this with Veteran Brawlers in, but I don`t immediately recommend it.

Beating that deck?
4 Waterfront Bouncer
4 Ribbon Snake
4 Chimeric Idol
4 Drake Hatchling
4 Troublesome Spirit
4 Rising Waters
2 Enlightened Tutor
3 Gush
1 Parallax Tide
1 Thwart
2 Foil
4 Counterspell
2 Plains
4 Adakar Wastes
15 Islands

It's a start. Derm is a real problem however. Dueling Grounds may make it into this deck, but that would change it completely, into something like this:
1 Elfhame Sanctuary
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Utopia Tree
4 Defender en-Vec
4 Sterling Grove
1 Crackdown
1 Cowardice
1 Dueling Grounds
1 Ivory mask
2 Rising Waters
4 Parallax Wave
2 New Propaganda
4 Worldly Council
4 Enlightened Tutor
1 Rishidan Pawnshop
4 Adakar Wastes
4 Brushland
6 Forest
4 Plains
4 Islands

Looks like a pile, probably is.

Hmm, may be worth the Scouting treck/Clear the land combo in that deck.... With new propaganda, is hella good.

That sounds like a good idea. I think everybody would agree
that an Armageddon based deck will be pretty good. What
beats it? Yourself and galwish would probably know the
answer to that. I'm not really sure. I'm a wanna be playa'
I would guess, however, that some sort of Blue Control,
Burn or Tangled Stompy deck might work. Erik posted a
Tangled Stompy deck on StarCityCCG that might beat it. Don't
know? Your RDW2K might beat it.(burn up there mana creatures
then kill them)

I just don't know! I look foward to your answer.

Actually, I figure trench wurm a shoe-in for 5c. It only requires one of each of the two mana types, and it takes out port, edge, haven, bowl, the new duals, painlands.....
Insta-mana screw! And it's immune to black removal, and has a high enough thoughness to keep most red out of the way....
